Family Drug Court Operational Tune-Up

Whether your family drug court is just starting up or has been in operation for years, NDCI’s Family Drug Court Operational Tune-Up will help you formulate a strategic plan to improve policy and practice.

You must have a minimum of three drug court teams participate. There is a maximum of five drug court teams.

The comprehensive training covers a wide range of topics including:

  • Assessing the current practices within your family drug court
  • Best practices as established by successful family drug court programs
  • Scientific research about family drug court practices regarding program operations; services for parents, children, and families; and family recovery and reunification
  • Update on current case law pertaining to family drug court

Who should attend?

This workshop is designed for family drug court teams. Because the workshop is highly interactive and focuses on group decision making and consensus, the training experience and ability to apply training concepts to your court will be enhanced by the attendance of as many team members as possible. NDCI requires, at a minimum, the attendance of the core team members because of their day-to-day interactions with family drug court clients. Without a commitment from all of the core team members below, your team’s acceptance into the program is unlikely.

  • Coordinator
  • Judge
  • Agent
  • Parent attorney
  • Child representative/attorney/CASA
  • Child welfare representative
  • Child developmental specialist/therapist
  • Treatment provider

Without these core team members it is unlikely that your team will be accepted.

Jurisdictions must provide a training space at no cost to NDCI.
