NDCI is a national training and technical assistance provider for the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), within the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) at the U.S. Department of Justice.
Through this cooperative agreement, NDCI provides comprehensive implementation training to Adult Drug Courts, Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts, and Veterans Treatment Courts.
Implementation trainings are designed for courts not yet operating, teams that may have had significant staff changes or teams that have never attended an implementation before.
These free training programs are designed to:
- Educate teams about the basic components of these courts
- Teach the skills necessary for successfully making the shift from standard case processing to treatment court case processing
- Build a program that integrates court and treatment functions and adheres to best practice standards
A team of NDCI staff and cadre of treatment court practitioners will work with planning teams to develop their policy and procedure manual. Each interactive training session has been designed to familiarize participants with the building blocks of these courts
