"Excellent! This was the very best Drug Court training session that I have attended."
Does your Drug Court have a sophisticated strategy for delivering incentives and sanctions that focus on changing client behavior? Is every member of your team using science-based methods to motivate behavioral change? Do you serve a population that needs a unique approach? Would you like to learn a more effective, science-based method for helping clients change their behavior? NDCI has the answers to these questions and many more at this training. This training will provide state-of-the-art information based upon 60 years of research on behavior modification. Bring your team and expand your knowledge by learning the research and best practice techniques.
Overview
"Incentives and Sanctions: Rethinking Drug Court Responses to Client Behavior" is a two-day, advanced subject-matter training program that solves the problem of drug courts imposing sanctions and incentives without a sophisticated understanding of the science related to behavior management and change. The goals of this innovative training program is to (1) teach participants the behavioral principles relevant to behavioral management and change and transfer those scientific principles to practice within the drug court context; (2) teach participants how to create or facilitate the development of an algorithm of sanctions and incentives based in the scientific principles of behavioral science and (3) teach participants the requisite skills to effectively deliver court responses to behavior.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is designed for drug court teams. Because the workshop is highly interactive and focuses on group decision-making and consensus, the training experience will be enhanced by the attendance of as many team members as possible. At a minimum, NDCI requests the attendance of the drug court judge, coordinator, treatment provider, and supervision officer due to their day-to-day interactions with drug court clients. Without these core team members it is unlikely that your team will be accepted.
